I changed the above line into (one line):

#if     defined(C_LINUX) || defined(C_BSD) || defined(HAVE_MKSTEMP) ||
   defined(C_SOLARIS) || defined(C_HPUX)

but the same thing still happen.

(BTW, HAVE_MKSTEMP is defined (1))

Seems like the first child get an "a" prefix, second child get "b" and so
on... 27nd child get "{".
