That's not really true.
You can already download it from here

But the question is how long will that be possible
Officially only freshclam and the other official tool may download
from those links. I don't imagine that there are plans for freshclam
to stop using these links but if you are successfully using them for
manual downloads, that is a bug which may be fixed without warning.
But, I'm only a user and what I say is in no way official.
