Hello,

I've been using Clamav 1.4.3 and earlier on offline machines,
The method was to install clamav 1.4.3 on online ubuntu machine,
do freshclam and copy the clamav installation deb file and the updated
virus database (/usr/local/share/clamav) to the new machine,
Install the .deb file and copy the db files.
This would work well on those versions.

Recently I've installed clamav 1.5.1 on a new ubuntu 24.04.3 machine,
I used the generic .deb file from the official clamav website,
created the user clamav, the directories and permissions and did freshclam.
it's working on the online machine,
However when I try to do the same process on an offline (new) ubuntu
24.04.3 machine, it doesn't work.
I've read the release notes \ blogpost that the new clamav version 1.5.1
checks for .sig, and I did copy those files as well:

ls /usr/local/share/clamav/
bytecode-339.cvd.sign bytecode.cvd daily-27849.cvd.sign daily.cvd
 freshclam.dat main-62.cvd.sign main.cvd
as well as /usr/local/etc/certs/clamav.crt

But I'm still getting an error about:
Error verifying signature / Invalid digital signature (for the .cvd files
and sigs) / can't verify database integrity.
it does find those files on the offline machine, but just won't accept the
sigs I copied from the online machine.

What is the correct way to update an offline clamav 1.5.1 machine with the
latest virus database?
How can I resolve those errors?

Thank You,
Maxim Bardin
