background info: On win2003 SP1 (although problem has been happening since before SP1), v083-8h. When I try to start the clamav service (created with srvany), i get the error that socket exists. when I stop and start the service one more time, the service starts properly. clamav service is invoked thru a command line run by the mail server (smartermail). i do not have clamwin installed. freshclam runs nightly.
problem: after a few days running fine, no anomalies in the log files, db checks ok, etc... i start to get multiple (hundreds) instances of clamdscan.exe, and still nothing weird in the logs. usually clamdscan.exe exits after the file is scanned, but for some reason it stops doing so. Anyone has an idea of whats going on?
