Is this a one-time thing? If so, why not use a live Ubuntu CD?

When I needed to do a boot-time scan of my mother-in-law's
Windows XP system (remotely!), I used an Ubuntu Live CD
and Google Chrome Remote. All she had to do was burn the
disc, boot it, get into chrome, and start the remote session,
and I did the scan remotely.
