Actually these repaint calls where a bit more efficient since they avoid unnecessary method calls. However, I would like you to revert the changes on Component for a different reason, I once made it so because I had an application that has overridden one of the repaint methods and produced strange behaviour because it got called when the component was not actually showing. I think I even have made a Mauve test for this (must check, otherwise I can quickly make one). /Roman
