find bugs in the rest of classpath, as well as making it possible to

Yes, this looks fine as a temporary testing measure. Could you also provide a
README for gnu/classpath/tools/appletviewer that documents the new environment
variables?
Do you have paperwork on file? If not, we should get that process started.
