Ok, here's a small update on where we are and what needs to be done.

1. Japhar+Classpath is broken again with the latest Japhar from CVS.
I need to do more investigation here.

2. AWT is basically complete, but doesn't yet work. I only got things
to the point of compiling. I need to work on this, and help from
people like Paul Fisher and Jim Blair will be appreciated.

3. Security is in the same state as AWT. I believe Mark Benvenuto
is planning on working on this more when he gets settled in at school.

4. Loren Peace has disappeared again. He was supposedly done with
java.util.zip. If he doesn't appear by the time we are done with
other things, someone might have to re-write that.

5. Need to upgrade build process to include things like java.text,
security, and AWT that are now done.

Basically, if we get what we've got working and I can somehow get ahold
of Loren, we have a complete 1.1 with the exception of RMI. And of course
many of our packages are 1.2 compliant as well.

Development has slowed down as you might have noticed. I was basically
grinding out the AWT over the summer and I don't know what else is up
with anyone. So if people who are still interested in doing work email
me with some updates and details, I'd appreciate it.

As for me, I'm out of town on the weekends of 10/9 and 10/16 and will
likely be swamped with other projects this weekend. So it might be
a little while before I can hit some of this hard myself.
