Japhar's readline bombing under GNU/Linux is quite common -- it just
needs to be upgraded. :)
Just cd progs/japhard, rm -fr readline, extract readline 4.0 in
progs/japhard, and `ln -s readline-4.0 readline' ... configure and
make away.
