He probably is around - but I spoke to him the other day and he's
continuing on this.
As far as servlets go GNU has a good showing we have a GNU servlet
engine (GNU-Paperclips which I maintain) and GNUJSP.
That's why we need to support things like javax.servlet.
In short - who cares about Apache? I know people like it but it's not
part of the GNU project, in fact there seems to be quite a lot of
antipathy (from the Apache side I have to say).

Hmmmm...

I agree with this... but what I was thinking of was a more general
revamp of www.gnu.org/software/java
I'm not sure how we'd do it - perhaps as a list of packages or as a
list of APIs
eg:
- Java Core (classpath)
- Servlet API (GNU-Paperclips, GNUJSP, Paul's javax.servlet)
- Mail API
- etc...
Scripting
- Kawa
- etc...
Does anyone know what the FSF's reaction to this would be?
Is there anyone lurking on the list who would like to do the
legwork?
Would anyone be interested in taking part in a list discussion about
this?
