I like our time-based release cycle. We used to do it every three months, but I think there is enough progress to do it every two months. The 0.08 release was late by two weeks, but I think we have enough new things already to just ignore that and do a 0.09 snapshot in the last week of April. And then 0.10 in the last week of June (hope that is just in time to make it for that mono 1.0 thing.) I did think a bit about whether we could guarantee more then just a time-based snapshot. Some sort of minimal feature based release. But I am afraid there is just to much to do just yet to make any promise. This does mean that we will not guarantee that 0.11 or 0.10 will be backwards compatible with 0.09 though. So you should be prepared for that even though you want to be included in a 1.0 mono release. How do other Compiler/VM-integrators feel about this? gcj and kaffe seem to go their own way mostly. The rest seems to follow the GNU Classpath release snapshots and recommend out latest release be combined with their latest release. Cheers, Mark
