You can see the AWT problems in action on the first screenshot.
The second screenshot is JamVM and GNU Classpath running the GST client
on top of Knopflerfish OSGi. SyncML is being dumped to the screen.
The last screenshot is after I hit the display failure (white with dim
vertical stripes) HW bug (beware and see
http://www.maemo.org/maemowiki/HowDoiBecomeRoot).
It is the Knopflerfish OSGi desktop running on the Nokia 770, on top of
SableVM 1.11 and GNU Classpath Swing. GNU Classpath Swing is not yet
complete :-). I used debian packages ands 1.13 was seg-faulting.
The X server is FC4-something and the WM is not Matchbox.
From what I hear the display failure is a HW problem with a software
workaround, but the code is sitting somewhere in engineering. Tech
support doesn't know about it but definitely wants it. So I'm looking
forward to having another 770 at hand...:-)

no need for an ARM device to do maemo high-level development such as
GUI-toolkits.
