Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone has seen this already? I have 6506 access switches all managed by NAC 4.1.3 in L3 OOB (no agent involved, only using MAC filter to assign vlans by roles) having very little issues. We recently upgraded to 4.1.3 and are now seeing our switch cpu constantly hit between 90 - 100% utilization. We didn't see this running 4.1.2 or 4.1.2.1. Looking through the NAC logs I came across the following entry: Jan 18, 2008 12:02:20 PM com.perfigo.wlan.web.sms.SnmpManager$DelayedNotificationTask run FINE: Add delayed SnmpNotificationTask to thread pool. Jan 18, 2008 12:02:20 PM com.perfigo.wlan.web.sms.SnmpManager$SnmpNotificationTask run WARNING: Failed to resolve the mac address connected to switch [10.50.1.11] dot1dBasePort [0] port [19] in in 180 seconds. Bouncing the port for retrying. Having this info I configure my switch to logg events for that specific port and now see the port constantly being admin down and up by NAC: Jan 18 12:38:40.219: %LINK-5-CHANGED: Interface GigabitEthernet1/19, changed state to administratively down Jan 18 12:38:40.223: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface GigabitEthernet1/19, changed state to down Jan 18 12:38:40.291: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from 10.50.11.254 by snmp Jan 18 12:38:40.223: %LINK-SP-5-CHANGED: Interface GigabitEthernet1/19, changed state to administratively down Jan 18 12:38:40.227: %LINEPROTO-SP-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface GigabitEthernet1/19, changed state to down Jan 18 12:38:45.311: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet1/19, changed state to down Jan 18 12:38:45.323: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from 10.50.11.254 by snmp Jan 18 12:38:45.315: %LINK-SP-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet1/19, changed state to down Jan 18 12:38:50.067: %LINK-SP-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet1/19, changed state to up Jan 18 12:38:50.071: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet1/19, changed state to up Jan 18 12:38:50.075: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface GigabitEthernet1/19, changed state to up Jan 18 12:38:50.071: %LINEPROTO-SP-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface GigabitEthernet1/19, changed state to up Jan 18 12:38:56.351: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from 10.50.11.254 by snmp NYC-6506-14FL# sh ver Cisco IOS Software, s3223_rp Software (s3223_rp-ADVENTERPRISEK9_WAN-M), Version 12.2(33)SXH, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc5) I am aware of bug CSCsj10375 and have configured Cisco's work around, but believe this is not related. - Matt
