We just went through this in January.
Moving forward with newer versions of Clean access, certain features will only work on the new appliance hardware. It was several months ago when we had our meeting with the security representatives from Cisco to explain some of the details. Several months for me means I can't remember but it was compelling enough for us not to look at other products. I DO remember that they will now be able to focus things like programming resources to one hardware platform rather than multiple vendor servers. Our Cisco Sales Representative got us a deal so that it was not much more than us buying regular servers and putting the latest software on. I have found that if you ask they will work to ensure you stay a customer - especially at quarter end J todd Todd Joyce Network Services Radford University - The Smart Choice [EMAIL PROTECTED] (540) 831-7777 Keep your boots and ChapStick and ice hotels. I'd been aware that CCA was renamed to NAC but this was the first time it was really going to affect me. A vendor of ours mentioned there were some differences but I really didn't know what that meant hence the questions I posted. The vendor also mentioned CCA wasn't going to be updated anymore. They are a trusted vendor so I value what they say but if your rolling your eyes at this then I would admit this didn't make much since to me either. What Cisco is saying from what I understand is that we must transition to all new hardware (NAC Appliance) in order to once again be on contract. Perfigo was cleanmachiens. Which became SmartEnforcer. Whcih became Clean Access. which became NAC appliance. So, CCA (or NAC Appliance) is still for sale. Now, when they say you must transition to NAC, this is the real question. Are they saying talking NAC appliance, (which is what you already have), or are they talking NAC (as in Cisco Trust Agent) Mike On Fri, Apr 18, 2008 at 10:48 AM, Rob Crockett <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Greetings, We purchased Clean Access when it was still called Perfigo. We are running on two HP Proliant DL140, one is the CAM, the other is the CAS. We've had pretty decent experience with this but we are looking at end of life and renewing the support contract is not available due to some errors on our part (word of advice, don't let your contract expire). To get back into a contract Cisco is saying we must transition to NAC and a quote came in at $90K and we paid less than half of that for Perfigo (yes, that's including State contract pricing). Could someone post a quick summary of where Cisco is with Clean Access and how they are transitioning to their NAC solution? What are the main differences etc? I also noticed that the end of sale has already been reached so it's count down time. What are others doing out there who are in a similar situation?
