One thing to remember when dealing with CCA servers and managers (really I think any web servers), the fields are very sensitive when filling them out to generate the CSR. I once had a space at the end of one my lines when generating the CSR that cost me hours to troubleshoot.
Although, I have never seen the exact message you are referring too... Thawte may have seen that message before also, might be worth asking...
