We are running 4.1.3 of the CAM/CAS and 4.1.3.2 of the Agent. We're layer 3 in-band.
We're in a testing phase of using the Agent but hope to deploy it across our campus in the next few months. However one large issue has been limiting us from doing so. We are seeing the agent taking an unnecessarily long time to load when a machine first boots up. Usually the long load time is seen on Vista machines but it has been seen on a few XP boxes. Now, I can see that Cisco wants the Agent to load last so that all of the anti-virus and anti-spyware programs are running. And I can also see that Cisco doesn't control the how fast programs load in Windows, but I find it hard to believe that people are living with a 3-5 minute delay before the Agent even runs. We have an image that we load on laptops that we give students and there is nothing crazy on them besides AV and AS. Even on a fresh install of Vista, of basic Window's components, the load time is outrageous. Is this something that troubles you? How do/did you solve it? -Chad Smith- University of Dayton Network Engineer
