Steve, Our Layer 2 Out-of-Band connections give a greyed out login because you cannot logout.
Also when using Single Sign on it is greyed out because it is not needed. I believe that if a machine is connected to both wired & wireless ( especially if the wired is a non-CCA port) it will be greyed out.
