Dennis,

There's a cookie file that gets created by your Windows Update Agent when doing the WSUS check. This cookie expires after an hour. If you run the WSUS check again before the cookie expires it won't take as long to run the check. You can verify this on the client computer by looking in the c:\windows\windowsupdate.log file

I just worked through a WSUS problem where it was taking 90 seconds for the WSUS check to complete. I'm writing it up now. I'll send it out to this group when it's done.

I have found when using WSUS requirement, the agent login process takes longer
(about 30 secs) when first time log in after computer start up . Then if I exit
the agent and start the agent again, the login process takes about 10-15 secs.
Is this true? and why? Is this because the agent cached something after the
first time log in?
