Hi Ryan

Yes, we've been using this type of check for about 18 months now. We use it
precisely  because we had so many problems with the Cisco checks. That isn't
a criticism - just that the logic WUA uses is so complex that disagreements
are almost inevitable. The only systems on which we get the non-admin
problem are some laptops which are loaned to students by our Learning
Centre. On those we have installed the helper (stub), so they work OK. We
have _never_ seen a student-owned PC used with a non-admin account. If we
did, we'd just get them to install the helper
