Recently we began receiving calls from OSX machines getting self-assigned addresses after visiting another building (each building is a different vlan). We have found that if a user signs-in from their building then goes to a friend's building and does the same they will no longer be able gain an IP address when they return to their room. We have only seen this on some OSX machines (10.4, 10.5 & 10.6) but not all.
