It has been suggested that this issue can occur if the user is running the agent in Compatibility Mode under Windows Vista or Windows 7. To check this, shut down the Cisco NAC Agent from the system tray, but making sure that the user is logged out first. Once the agent is shutdown then go into the start menu and choose 'All Programs' >> 'Cisco' >> 'Cisco NAC Agent' and then right click on "Cisco NAC Agent" and choose "Properties." Under the compatibility tab make sure that the option is unchecked. You will need to exit the agent and restart it if you didn't originally shut it down to get it to work again.

Has anyone else ran into any problems with NAC reporting the wrong OS for a
machine? I am dealing with a laptop that is running Windows 7 but is failing
nac due to Windows XP updates. The NAC Manger sees this machine as running
Windows XP for some reason.
