hey, i am christopher reynolds and i just found out about your listserv from mr shutt. i teach freedom (old name for french) at berea high school and creativity (ed654) for ashland university. i am also a singer songwriter (Christopher) and founder of the urrealist art movement. www.urrealist.com.
my nephew is in southern iraq. i was active before the war started now, i am more driven than ever to join and work with others who want to transform the culture. my hope is in keeping the long view of things, so i am envisioning a sustainable culture of peace for the globe. i have been using the slogan, "moving through the Me-generation to the Re-generation" as a way of talking about the spirit of activism in our times. 1. this is a website of music for a sustainable culture. download it and hand it out freely, bring some when you go on the radio. these are local artists, and rina is from australia http://www.geocities.com/voicessustain/ 2. STILL POINT there is a moment when the winds of change converge and create a kind of destroying vortex that is destructive to everyone's intent. i think we are at such a moment of convergences. in the face of such a vortex or whirlwind, i think a proper answer is stillness, or a Still Point. i put forth the call to establish Still Points where you live, both inwardly and outwardly. perhaps come to the Still Point with no candle, no flag, no badge or sign, no party, no image, no creed, no other intent other than being a still point in a place of the Still Point. 3. HOMECOMING AND HEALING History suggests that it can be as hard to come home from war as it is to fight in it. Any healing of our nation at the end of Irak 2 should include special effort on the part of those at home to help the service men and women to re-integrate to civilian life. This is a call for former veterans and their families to join together in order to put as much wisdom as possible for this purpose. Each person has an individual story of how s/he healed after a tour of duty. We are at a time the individual healings can come into service to help the greater whole. 4.
