It's funny that I just read this tonight after our meeting at the Revolution Bookstore because that was the question we discussed.

Anyway, on p. 24 of Power and Terror: Post 9/11 talks by Noam Chomsky, John Junkerman asks Chomsky how he became an activist and he replies, "[i]n the early 1960s, I got back into it, with some regret and trepidation, I should say, because I know very well that you can't do these things part-time.  If you get started, it's going to be all-consuming..."
