The © entity can be used in an DocBook-based XML file due that it is 
resolved by the DTD.

But the XSL code used to generate the top-level index.html file is a very 
simple stylesheet that don't import DocBook stuff, then the unique way is to 
place the © simbol literally.

Note that now the © symbol is used in all places, but before there was a mess 
of © symbols generated by DocBook and hardcoded (c).
