Hey everyone,

Hopefully no one has noticed anything, I was moving and upgrading things slowly, testing, etc. Hops was running low on disk space and I got a deal on an upgraded server. The server changes: celery -> P4, 80GB hdd -> 320GB hdd and 512MB memory -> 1GB memory . All services except email have already been migrated to the server for a few days and it appears to be working fine and faster and no data lost in the move. Once I get the unique IP's for https webmail and admin.clfs.org, email will be switched over too. I've re-created shell accounts on the server, copied homedir contents and the password from /etc/shadow, so besides a warning about ssh keys changing, things should work like nothing changed.

kooky, the new server, is running CLFS 1.0.0 with some upgrades. Besides a new OS install, Trac has been upgraded to 0.10 plus the SpamFilter plugin, and other upgrades like apache, php, mysql, postgresl, etc.

If anyone has anything hardcoded to use hops' IP 209.172.44.8, the new IP for kooky is 64.15.155.91. I'm not sure the nameserver setup for cross-lfs.org and if anything needs to be changed. I will be keeping hops alive for another month or two so we have time to fix any issues.

If you notice any problems, either with the server move or the upgraded Trac and other software, let me know!

Justin Knierim
