One thing I did neglect to mention is that Grub2 depends on LZO. In
terms of functionality, I don't know how much more we really need. It
can load a linux kernel off of a number of different filesystems, load
an initrd, and the chainloader works now. As for stability, I can't
account for more then I use. I currently have it tested on a x86_64
multilib desktop (nforce 4), a x86_64 pure64 system booting in qemu, and
a x86 hp laptop (ali chipset). Is there any kind of consensus of whether
we should use grub2 in the 3 *86* books?

Mac's are definitaly something I have no way testing, other then in an
emulator.
