A few things have maybe changed (e.g. libidn is no longer produced in versions matching the glibc release, I'm hoping the stand-alone libidn can be used instead).
Before putting any of it into the book, we do need some sort of consensus that it's the right way to go, which is why I'm posting here. Please post any comments about why it is or isn't the right thing to do in this thread, and keep the ticket just for details of what can/could be done. Thanks.
