There is a problem with the 64/multilib book when using the 'boot' method. The problem is that you cannot login to the temporary system. You will get a login prompt but it will not let you in as 'root' user (nor any other for that matter).
The problem is from 'login' being missing from the symlinks that are created in (iirc) section 7.3. It is an easy fix and a patch is attached which fixes it.... The 32 bit 'boot' method is already correct and does not need this fix.
