Kudos on the major update on the embedded book. If ditching the WRT keeps the
love flowing, by all means do it. I think if you are going to support a specifc
hardware (or virtual hardware) Raspberry or beaglebone would be a better
choice. I've been building against the QEMU target to learn my way around, its
cheaper than bricking actual hardware.
