It's probably your package management, it's never a good idea to symlink
the toolchain(gcc, glibc, and binutils).


Well, I'll change it so that those aren't symlinked and see if that fixes things.  However, I would like to know why it's not a good idea to symlink them.  I don't see why it should make any difference.  Certainly putting them in /usr/pkg as I've done could be a problem if I had /usr on a separate partition, but I'm only going to have one partition.  What exactly makes it a bad idea to symlink the toolchain?
