Hi Ken and thanks for the answer! Right, from a point of view I could agree with you in saying that if you don't have the machines you don't need to know... Right, I forgot about arch cross-compiling... Thanks for pointing to the config.guess (I didn't think about it).
Indeed I have planned to but a Sun Sparc Multiprocessor workstation but it will take time because of costs and a Mac G5 (actually I'm using at work and at home, other than lfs and cross-lfs Sun Solaris and Apple MacOSX x86 versions). The need is for an automated build system for the various lfs projects (lfs, blfs, hlfs, clfs and bclfs) that let you build not only the system but CD isos/s and DVD iso (bootable and installation). It's, really, a fork of ROCK Linux scripts, with various features added, and build system modified to reflect lfs ways; from some weeks I'm talking with Alexander about this project and see if it could be added, when systems are built and tested, as a second "official" LFS CD or as he said me in a mail a "Luca" LFS cd.
