CLFS will not use those headers from the kernel for a build, until they make some changes. Currently those headers are not backwards compatible to older programs out there. It's up to each developer of their package to update their package to utilize this new method for distributing the kernel headers. So you may be lucky right now, but just watch out for programs that those headers will not work with. Until this comes around, we will provide headers, your more than welcome to write a hint on utilizing the make install_headers and we would gladly post it for you.
