This is the immediate resolution, until the libtool issue gets worked
out:
Boot into the new system, and reinstall gcc. You can use the instructions
in the guide (6.6. GCC-4.1.1) with the following modifications:
1. Leave out the --build, --host, and --target configure options.
2. Leave out DESTDIR=${CLFS} from the second make command.
3. The links are already created, so you won't need to recreate them.
It is likely that you may have to rebuild other applications that use libtool.
