Hello, after an extensive internet-research I still have no solution for my problem. I have built a CLFS-1.0.0 system according to the book at
http://cross-lfs.org/files/BOOK/1.0.0/CLFS-1.0.0-x86.html The target is a Pentium tillamook - i tried the i586 target here, the host is an i686. Each build-step in the book went quite seamless, everything worked and I have created a Compactflash card with grub as described there (target has only CF-Slot, but it is like a HD). But during booting the target, right after the message "Freeing unused kernel memory [..]" nothing happens anymore, system hangs. In the internet I read, the configured CPU in the kernel may not the correct one - but I tried some (386, 486) without any success. The same for the whole build-process, I tried as well i486 as target, with no success either, so I am quite clueless now, and I would greatly appreciate any hint or help.
