Hi Gerhard,

What you expose is a bit weird for me, I managed to compile ALSA
successfully with all its modules and I didn't got that error...

anyway... the lavcrate.lo file suggests me that maybe you haven't
fulfilled all 'desired' dependencies.. have you compiled ffmpeg with all
possible plugins like samplerate, sndfile and the like? maybe a
recompile of ffmpeg would help you... or maybe you used the --libdir
option at the time configuring samplerate? (I didn't use it)...

Hope this serves as a hint (not a real solution, tough :()
