Once again, what is in your config.log for "no, program does not run." It'll tell you why."

It may have to do with -fexceptions. -fexceptions was used with gmp when ppl was used. We don't use it anymore. It may have an issue with GMP versions of 5.1.x I don't know. We don't know until you let us know why configure fails to run the compiler and puts the information in config.log. As I recall, when experimenting with GMP 5.1.x and PPL before we moved up gcc versions and to ISL, didn't notice any error like that.
