Well I’ve taught Clojure classes a couple dozen times and a short diversion answering that question seems great. It really doesn’t need to be a 20 minute discussion. It’s also perfectly ok to say, that’s a more advanced discussion, let’s have it at a break or in an hour.
Either seems vastly preferable to inventing a new prepend / append operation that is antithetical to the design of Clojure and different than all the code you will find in the wild.
