Wouldn't that make it easier to keep track of them.
Example:
(defn myfn-a [a b]
(if (zero? b)
a
(recur
(afn (bfn (...)) a)
(dec b))))
(defn myfn-b [a b]
(if (zero? b)
a
(recur
(afn (bfn (...)) a)
(dec b)
)
)
)
