Shouldn't it be like:
(definline pred-transform [obj pred tf]
   `(if (~pred ~obj) ~obj
       (~tf ~obj)))
=> (pred-transform 1 #(not (nil? %)) println)
1
=> (pred-transform 1 nil? println)
1
nil
