I use Windows 8 at work, with Emacs and Windows Power Shell and bash when needed. It was easy to set up. I've been a long time Unix/Linux lover, but I've come to terms with the need to use Windows at work, and versions 7 and 8 are not bad. At home I have an old MacBook with OS X, and although it is ok, I will likely replace it with a Windows PC. Although I like Linux, I don't really need it now, but that could change.
