As others are saying it is definitively possible, but if you intend to do 
complex things and stick with it, you should probably invest some time on 
learning.

The thing is that if you use it for the browser, you need some knowledge on DOM 
and browsers, and how the ecosystem works for taking advantage of the huge 
ecosystem of libraries available. It is not as smooth and direct as the 
CLJ-Java story, and it can get pretty frustrating at times because of the 
weirdness of the multi-platform story that is browsers and JS.

The good thing is that the JS community is quite invested in making it easy to 
learn, so there are plenty of beginner friendly resources to learn the language 
and ecosystem.
