No, I didn't write the extra "1", but it seems not to be mandatory to write the complete options, as said in the kernel documentation, the default is 9600n8 http://www.mjmwired.net/kernel/Documentation/kernel-parameters.txt#514 I will try with the extra 1 anyway, but I don't think that that can be the problem.
