Hi,
I have an XP machine with 2 identical removable hard drives. I have
installed a fresh version of XP SP3 on drive C: and want to clone this
to drive D:
The point is to be able to return drive C: to its current clean state
whenever I need to.
I performed a device-device clone using clonezilla and everything
appeared to work properly.
To check the clone, I swapped the two drives and booted off the clone.
This seemed to boot OK.
However, when I logged-in, firstly I received a message about finding
new hardware (wtf) and then a service crashed.
Everytime I boot off the clone and login, I get a service crash (the
Event Log actually reports 24 separate Errors each time)
Everytime I boot off the original, it works perfectly.
I tried repeating the cloning process but with the same unsatisfactory
result.
I have done this previously with Ghost and had no problem.
Is there some special option or incantation that I am missing?
Cheers
Russell Thamm
