It's quite difficult at times to say in advance even approximately what
would be a final image size. I've run in a situation, when I think I have
enough space on a storage drive but I'm not positive.

What happens, if I've miscalculated? Would Clonezilla produce any
warnings, abort before starting, abort while processing, would fail
saving the final image, or it would overwrite the existing data (horrible
scenario)?

I've never used it in such situation. It's better to ask before I ruin my
backup. :-)

I wonder if somebody knows the answer?

All of the data generated in your IT infrastructure is seriously valuable.
Why? It contains a definitive record of application performance, security
threats, fraudulent activity, and more. Splunk takes this data and makes
sense of it. IT sense. And common sense.
