Dear Leonardo,
The problem you are seeing is most probably related to the FD_SETSIZE parameter.
For Linux machines, you can find it in /usr/include/bits/typesize.h
Setting it to a high value (e.g., 65536 ) and then recompiling should remove
the limit. From Darwin's source directory:
1. ./clean
2. ./Buildit
3. ./Install

Also, please check the "Install the server" part. It is updated with hints on
server tuning.

For Clearing the Clouds paper, we used around 16000 clients (streaming low
quality bit rates) with two NICs to avoid the bandwidth bottleneck.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Mutaz

Subject: MediaStreaming - Maximum number of Clients

Hi,

What is the maximum number of clients that Darwin Streaming Server support?
Currently I am not able to attend more than 900. The server just stops
responding.

What number of clients do you use on you paper Clearing the Clouds?

Leonardo
