Hi Diana, The console would pop up automatically if the console window is open when the checkpoint is taken.
Just type: 'client_con0.open' to open the client machine console and 'server_con0.open' to open the server machine console. You should also make sure that you have xterm support on the machine, which you run the workloads. To test it, you can type 'xterm' before starting simics. If you see a window, it means that you have the correct settings to see the simics console. You can close that window afterwards. A final note, I don't know what your goal is but, if you just want to change the workloads settings or browse the filesystem, start simics with -fast flag instead of -stall flag. This would be much faster if you are only modifying some settings on the simulated machine. I am hoping this is not actually anything to worry about since I can still interact with the consoles through "server_con0.input" etc. Then the output shows up mixed with the simics output. But I don't understand why the console windows would come up for some but not others.
