I think the other CLUGers are right in saying that you should try installing it yourself. However, I also understand that not everyone is technically inclined. Not everyone has the time to sit down and figure out how to install Linux. Although the newer Linux distributions are easy to install, they are non the less different from Windows, and people tend to fear the unknown. In this case it probably makes more sence for an expert to do it as there is a better chance of things going smoothly. I would rather install Linux for someone, have it work properly, and see them happy. I always hate to see people try to switch from Windows to Linux, only to see them get frusterated and flock back to Windows.
Anyway, I could probably even get Eudora running for you under Linux by using Wine (http://www.winehq.org).

Brian H.

Dear Clugers,
I am a techno-nudnic who has been lurking for a while, and I think this is the
corect place to post this note. I am getting thoroughly sick of Evil Uncle
Bill's OS which delights in crashing on me, and I wish to install a Linux
OS as
well. I have a Mandrake 8.1 Power Pack Edition that I would like help
installing. (I am not rich, but I figure I could afford to pay about $75.00
cash for the work- no receipt required)
I wish to have at least the following programs/abilites:
- KDE (on the set)
- Star Office (on the set)
- an ability to fax a letter from the computer
- a working internet connection to Telus- altho I am willing to listen to
suggestions about Linux-friendly servers
- an e-mail reader (in the set- altho I am used to Eudora Pro)
-a browser (in the set altho personally I like Opera)
- an ability to print thru my present printer- an old Canon BJ-200e
If any of you could suggest an individual or company that might be
interested/able to do such work, I'd be obliged.
cheers
pat
