I've had an interest in broad band modems. They're not modems, I know. They're ethernet bridges. I have a 3com Home connect. I can use hyperterminal to connect, and configure the device. I can telnet now, I've discovered a fair bit. I believe they're unix based. 3Com-DSL>show file asdf CLI - Failure to Open File: /./asdf Status ES_UNIX_OPER_FAILED 3Com-DSL>show ip settings IP System Host Address: 010.000.000.250 IP Forwarding DISABLED IP Wan to Wan Forwarding DISABLED I have a Motorola cybersurf wave. I'm itching to get into this. There is an asnyc port, and I have some idea's as to how to connect. Is there a linux terminal application that uses the serial port? Anyone know much about cable modems? thx. Richard.
