I tried KDE 2.2 once under Cygwin once. It was interesting to see it running under Windows, but I found it was very slow compared to running under XWindows on Linux. There are obvious reasons for that though.

yes, it is, but it's just one or two guys doing it in their odd hours... it's
more a "because we can" thing than a "hey, this is a great idea" concept, as
i understand it...
