Just a quick reminder that the Annual General Meeting is set for March 5th's meeting. At present we have only two nominations. Do we have any other individuals interested in becoming Executive Board Members? These are voluntary positions open to any and all Tier Two members. I would like to take this opportunity to nominate my wife Kari for the position of Secretary. She has experience working as a Secretary in a Society. She held this position in the Sundre Minor Baseball Association. She knows how to take minutes and record meetings. She knows the rules of conduct governing meetings. As someone who works for the M.D. of Rockyview she also knows how to deal with paperwork and Red Tape. I feel that she would be an asset to the group especially in the next phase of our development. We are shooting for not-for-profit status once we have our Society status. For the skeptics among us, I am not saying this because she is my wife. While she is one of my biggest supporters, she has no compunction in expressing a contrary opinion to mine. I hope she meets with the group's approval. Kari has been coming to the last few meetings and the last InstallFest. She has also helped me immeasurably behind the scenes. I know that some of you have gone out of your way to make her feel welcome at meetings. I appreciate this. Just to further extoll her virtues: she has installed SuSE 8.1 on her laptop and even managed to get Scribus installed from source (something I did not manage to do). She is very keen to learn more about Linux. I hope you accept her, she is a fine person.
